A Picture Trail of my 5 Consecutive Years of Vision Expo East

Wow, I feel kind of old. 2015 will be my 5th Vision Expo East. I started going as a pre-optometry student and I must say it was a huge help to get me where I am today. The amount of networking, relationship building and education has helped mold me into a better optometrist and business person. One of the most beneficial things about Vision Expo is the unlimited access to connect, learn, and network with some of the greatest clinical minds in the profession. They are some of the most successful businessmen and entrepreneurs in the ophthalmic industry.

One of the biggest opthalmic events in the world, in one of the greatest cities in the world, Vision Expo East has stood the test of time in delivering an absolute stunning experience that I relish on an annual basis. Along with the education and networking, the exhibit hall is packed with the newest technology and trends impacting our profession.

The Jacob Javits Center is easily accessible on the west side of the city, which means there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy all New York City has to offer in between exploring the exhibit hall, attending educational lectures, spending time with colleagues and making new connections.

I made about half of my connections when I was at Vision Expo East and West. At first I started small as a pre-optometry student: meeting individuals, expressing my goals and desires for optometry, and handing out business cards was all I needed to get started. Then, year after year, I started meeting more influential people. It wasn’t until my last Vision Expo that I realized the “top-dogs” are always walking the exhibit halls at these meetings, I just never knew it. Having experienced just how valuable attending these premier events in optometry have been, there is never a question as to whether I am going to attend VEE. The question is when am I going to fly into NYC? That being said, below is a photo journey of some great times over the last few Vision Expo events that I personally attended. These are certainly memories I will never forget, with colleagues and friends.
